Dan (pronouns: he/him) is a licensed clinical social worker and AASECT certified sex therapist with experience providing therapy to adults and couples from diverse backgrounds. He works with clients on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, identity development, and adjustment to life transitions. He also specializes in sex, intimacy, and relationship concerns including sexual dysfunction (low desire, erectile issues, painful sex, orgasm difficulties), poor communication, disconnection, and lack of intimacy. Dan is passionate about serving the LGBTQIA community; he has extensive training in LGBTQIA affirmative therapy, further informed by his lived experiences. Dan also enjoys helping young adults and college students navigate the challenges of entering adulthood.

Dan strives to help his clients lead fulfilling, authentic, and meaningful lives even when faced with the suffering that life undoubtedly brings. He believes in creating a safe and affirming space for clients to explore the context of their presenting concern, recognize strengths, and find a path to healing, connection, and value. Dan integrates Cognitive Behavioral, Interpersonal, Solution-Focused, Gottman Method, Emotion Focused, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies to fit treatment to his clients’ unique needs.

When addressing sex, intimacy, and relationships, Dan uses a sex-positive approach that affirms and honors intimate, romantic, and sexual connection while promoting mutual pleasure and satisfaction. He works with individuals and partners to improve intimacy, foster a greater sense of connection, and address communication challenges. Dan welcomes couples from all walks of life, including those who are kinky, open, or consensually non-monogamous.

Sherry is a clinical social worker with 30 years of experience in the mental health field. Sherry has worked with children, families, couples, adults, and older adults in settings ranging from home care, to hospitals, to private practice.

Sherry has worked successfully with adults and children recovering from trauma and anxiety.  These symptoms often present in a variety of tumultuous ways for individuals and their families.  Sherry has also been able to assist people adjust to losses due to death, declines in health, and divorce. Sherry and her clients have created plans to address trauma related to events experienced in the past or ongoing events that impact present relationships.  These interventions have been coordinated with psychiatrists, medical doctors, school staff, family, friends and even employers, through EAPs and other programs. Stress and anxiety is often comes from change even good change, such as a better job, a marriage or the birth of a child.  Every client has the right to live their best life possible and Sherry is committed to helping each and every client with equal respect and dedication.

In the initial meeting the client will review with Sherry current symptoms as well as supports and family history. Please be prepared to discuss your medical background and health issues as well. Initial goals will also be established in the first session and reviewed periodically.  Moving forward sessions will be a dynamic process and clients will be encouraged to express changing goals and objectives. Clients and Sherry will discuss what interventions and plans work then ‘try out’ options that fit client’s life, values and goals for a custom treatment experience.

My typical client is someone who needs a psychological evaluation for the courts. I have expertise in the areas of custody and parenting evaluations, termination of parental rights, child protective services, adult and adolescent competency to proceed/criminal sanity, medical decision making,  and testamentary capacity.
